Primary Cause : Natural Shedding

Daily hair loss is natural and happens to everyone. Humans shed 100 – 200 hairs daily simply through brushing, combing, washing, styling, or just plain gravity.

Usually those lost healthy-looking hairs are replaced by an equal number of brand new strands emerging from the hair follicle. However, if hair re-growth is weak or the follicle is damaged or blocked, hair gets thinner. That’s when you need to dig deeper to find the “root” causes of hair loss & hair damage.

Secondary Cause : Health Factors

Environmental or health factors may be temporary causes of hair loss. They include things like surgery, pregnancy, drugs (such as chemotherapy), high amounts of stress, dietary changes, sudden weight loss and hormonal fluctuations.

Heredity hair loss is the most common cause of hair loss. Individual genetic structure determines whether your follicles will eventually lose their ability to generate new hair growth. An enzyme called 5-alpha reductase [5AR] converts free testosterone into DHT, which inhibits hair production in the follicles over time, which leads to thinner and more fragile hair as you age. The enzyme 5-alpha reductase is therefore the root cause of hair loss. This condition is known as androgenic alopecia (AGA), also know as male/female pattern baldness.
